Meet Our Elite Coaching Staff

Ramona Walters
Elite 2026

Chris Testa
Elite 2027

Leading the #1 team in NJ is Coach Testa. Coach Testa believes athletes perform their best with constants - reps, hard work, a winning culture, and an improvement mindset. This also applies to coaching. He began his short TTE tenure 6 years ago in 2019, elevating the level of play and impact (quickly raising the 2027s from 65th to 5th in the country). With over 28 years of experience, Coach Testa began his lacrosse coaching career in 1996. A former high school head coach, Coach Testa was also a captain of his college team and a two-time All-Conference selection. In addition to the 2027s, he also coaches the K-1-2 team for Del Val JR Lacrosse. Coach Testa played high school lacrosse at Mountain Lakes and has been fortunate to be mentored by numerous Hall of Fame coaches throughout his career. He loves to share the knowledge and experiences he gained along the way, inspiring his players and fellow coaches to develop their skills and passion for the game.

Dave Perez
Elite 2028

Dave has been immersed in lacrosse his entire life, playing a key role in bringing the sport to the varsity level in his hometown of West Orange, NJ, where he was a three-year varsity starter at attack. His coaching career began as the Varsity Assistant and Offensive Coordinator at West Orange High School, where he spent seven years developing players who went on to play at the collegiate level. Dave also served as the head coach of NJIT’s club lacrosse program for two years, contributing to its transition to a Division I varsity program in 2013. Dave later joined Sparta High School as a Varsity Assistant, where the team achieved state rankings and won a county championship. He then spent three years as Head Coach at Madison High School. In 2022, Dave shifted to coaching girls' lacrosse and is now the Head Coach of the Girls Varsity Lacrosse team at West Orange High School. He also coached the Dominican Republic National Boys Lacrosse Team, which placed 3rd at the 2024 World PALA Sixes Tournament.

Charlize Smith

Michel Capone
Iron 2029

Coach Capone has been coaching at TTE for the past 13 years and began his coaching journey over 20 years ago at the recreation level. His passion for competition and player development drives him to help athletes reach their full potential. The catalyst for Coach Capone’s dedication to coaching women’s lacrosse came from his three daughters, who showed an early interest in the sport. Throughout his career, he has had the privilege of being mentored by some of the best in the game, which has shaped his growth and development as a coach. Coach Capone remains committed to being the very best he can be, both for himself and for the players he inspires on and off the field.

Currently, in addition to coaching with TTE, Coach Tai contributes to the Bridgewater recreational teams, supports the high school team during the off-season, and provides private training sessions. What drives Coach Tai to coach is her passion for giving back to the community which shaped her as an athlete and allowed her to play at James Madison University. She takes pride in passing on the skills and knowledge she gained at the Division I level.
